MOVING/CRAFT ROOM

Hi everyone

I am slowy moving over the next few weeks to a new house much much bigger and the best bit, i will be able to have a craft room again yippee. I am so excited, as i have been crafting in the dining room since my decs was born 2 years ago and it's so annoying when you are shattered and have to tidy up. I am moving a big chunk this weekend then the next big lot will be at half term when my hubby has the week of work. Then it wil be design time for my crat room, i quite fancy a black and white room but just not sure where to begin at the moment any useful or helpful advice always welcome and well if anyone fancies posting a pic of there craft room with a link i will defo check it out for inspiration. Well hopefully i will be able to manage some cards but i haven't done any this week, so so tired with all this packing but keep thinking (reward = craft room) and what a reward that is to work to (lol)

FOUND IT

As you can see i have found my camera after looking everywhere including all the toy boxes, cupboards, settee etc, doesn't seem to have been my little 2 year old (declan) after all. More like his dad put it in the drawer and forgot about it and then he couldn't remember. Men pain in the ass sometimes. Think i need to padlock it to the computer the camera that is lol.
oh and my 2 WOJ stamps arrived this morning so hopefully will get a challenge done for that but i am slightly stressed sorting everything out this week as well as packing ready to move.

FRIDAY SKETCHERS CHALLENGE 35

Here is my card for the Friday Sketchers, I have used one of my new stamps (got all excited then lol). I had to glaze her up as she looked a bit pale, poor thing.

PENNY BLACK WEEK 32 CHALLENGE

Here is my card for this weeks penny black challenge which is dotty week. You can find dots on my semi circle which is embossed with the cuttlebug folder, then i added some gorgeous blue stickles to highlight the dots(circles), then i added 2 dotty buttons with a little ribbon. Apieec of dotty paper and penny black stamped image coloured with water colours and glitter added for the sparkle and finally my blu flower with a dotty brad centre.

PRO MARKERS

I am not to sure about these pro markers that everyone raves about, my sister loves them and has gradually been building up her load of them, so last nite whilst we were having a crafty nite i tried using them to colour onr of my images but i just couldn't get on with them, i don't think they blend very easily like my watercolour pencils. Maybe its a case of the more i use the more i experiment i may gain to like them but for now i will give them a miss and i think i would like to try the distressing inks or the copics instead. How does everyone find them? or do you prefer the copics or distressing inks?

EVENING EVERYONE

I spent last nite at my sisters house creating some beautiful challenges, ready to upload, unfortunatley i have the cards done but have misplaced my camera, or my little rascal of a 2 year old has had hold of it today and now i can't find it, anyway i have used my new ? milly or mimi ruuber stamp not sure which it is without checking, but its the girl with the umbrella and also penny black stamp of the cat in the tulips i am sure you all know what that one is. anyway hopefully will find it tomorrow and upload. hope everyone had a good wekend. Oh just realised i am still waiting for my WOJ stamps to come so hopefully mr postie will have them in the morning.

addicted to blogging and tea

Since i started blogging 2 weeks tomorrow, i seem to have become addicted to tea and keep sitting on my computer dunking biscuits in all the time, not good for the waste line but i am so addicted to this blogging. Think i better get my fingers busy cutting, stamping, and sticking and get some challenges entered and cards made instead. I have new stamps arriving any day now so that should keep me busy for a while.

ANYONES HELP APPRECIATED

Can anyone help me? when i leave a message when enetering a challenge etc it says at the bottom that i am posting as Debra, but it won't give me a direct link so people can go to my blog page. (some peole have on there message click here to see my card) how do you do this? do i need to do something in the googl/blogger bit. Sketch Saturday Challenge 33 & Elzybells Challenge 11

I thought i would kill two birds in one as the going says. Therefore i am entering this card for the Elzybells Challenge 11 and also for the Sketch Saturday Challenge 33. I really enjoyed working to this sketch last night, i have used different background papers, card stock and embossed with the cuttlebug embossing folders and then used my wonderful oval shaped nestabilities which i stamped one of the elyzbells designs of the lady shopping, i have used pinks, blues and greens as my main colours as to stay within the elzybells challenge and stuck to the sketch Saturday design, Debra xx

WELL I HAVE JUST FINISHED MAKING THIS QUICK, PRETTY SORRY CARD FOR A TEACHER AT SCHOOL WHO I LOST MY COOL WITH TODAY.

BASICALLY I TURNED UP AT SCHOOL TO FIND LOADS OF DIGGERS AND BUILDING WORK BEING CARRIED OUT AND NO ACCESS FOR ME TO COLLECT MY SON, I WAS VERY ANNOYED AS THERE WERE NO DIVERSION DIRECTIONS OR ANYTHING AND THIS WAS ONLY HIS SECOND DAY AT SCHOOL, ANYWAY MY OTHER DAUGHTER HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR ME AND WHEN I GOT TO THE GATE THE OTHERSIDE OF SCHOOL SHE WASN'T THERE, THE TEACHER WANTED ME TO WALK ALL THE WAY BACK WITH TWO SCREAMING CHILDREN AND ONE VERY WOUND UP WOMEN, NOT A PRETTY SIGHT SO UNFORUNATELY SHE GOT A PIECE OF MY MOOD TO SAY THE LEAST, POOR THING SHE WAS ONLY PROTECTING MY CHILD FROM ALL THE MONSTERS OUT THERE IN THIS WORLD. SO TO SHOW I AM SORRY HOPE THIS BRIGHTENS HER DAY TOMORROW.

Sorry about the poor posting of Christmas Cards

They didn't look like that on the preview, the writing was at the side. Think i need more practise as i am a beginner to blogging but practise makes perfect as every card maker and scrapbooker should know and you always learn by your mistakes. (well most of the time)

Christmas Cards

Card using various background papers, raffia ribbon, brads,snowflkes die cuts, embossed background and layered up magnolia stamp coloured in with gell/starglaze pens i think .

The Cat card was simply layered with a background paper, piece of ribbon placed over and layered up with the cat, which was stamped and coloured using gelly roll/starglaze pens and then added the liquid applique and heated with my heat gun to give the snowy effect


Woj card using different colours for the girly look

The green card with the holly and WOJ stamp is my favourite card i made for christmas just love these stamps and the other card

simular to the reg and green magnolia card but mainly blues in colour for a different affect. Look forward to using more of these stamps in the future both magnolia and WOJ

New Year 2009, What shall it bring, what should i be trying out? what this space

I am looking forward to this year, i would like to try out so many diffrent products, stamps and techniques. I have my eye on the Whiff of Joy, Magnolia and Sarah Kay stamps. I also would like to try out these pro-markers or copics (what is the difference) i will have to get checking out everyones blogs for tips and ideas. I also would like to try my luck with the distressing inks and nesterbilties and lucky enough for me i have a supplier for the nesterbilities right on my door step , practically

2 wicked but different cards i made for 2 individuals

The jazzy card below was for a jazz dancer, quick,simple but rewarding i thought.


Where i came up with this idea for a snooker table i'll never know but a very satisfied customer, and a happy birthday man also pleased to have his favourite hobby made into a personalised card

This was a perfect card for the gadget man at my husbands work.

I love the Jolly Nations decoupage range and i have made several cards for different occasions using these

I made this card for my neighbour who asked for a Christening card, i used paer nations background paper to layer the card, then layered pink bazzill onto gold mirri card, i then added the decoupage of the couple holding the baby, and added various other bits such as peel off, beads and printed sentiment that was layered up


Again this was a requested card for a retired Lady, using a simular technique i layered 2 different halfs of backing papers(think these were doodlebug papers), i then layered the paper nations background paper onto gold mirri card and then mounted the decoupage lady gardener on, die cut a 6 and 0 for the 60th out of glitter card, i finished this card of using printed sentiments, decoupage bits and gems

This is one of my favourite papernations(or jolly nations as they are now known).

2 half size backing papers one of the papernations couple and the other as sentiments on it from a wedding 12x12 book, i then cut out a rectangle and punched the corners to give the photo frame look and placed a piece of mirri card inside and then the couple on the top, i used diamontes on the tiara, photo frame edges, i then placed a piece of ribbon at the bottom of the card, added a sentiment and various other decoupage bits and pieces.

Learning how to blog

Hi
My sister has been showing me how to blog tonight, shes says i will soon get the knack of it and be addicted just as i am to cardmaking and scrapbooking. I introduced my sister to cardmaking about 5 years ago and now she seems to be showing me more things that i didn't know and keeps going on about pro-markers of which i need to read a little about yet, so please keep watching my blog and do leave any useful hints along the way as every little bit of help will spruce me along i am sure. Anyway i am going to try and upload some of my card creations i have made recently.
